Andrew Nelson

Senior Executive Recruiter

Andrew's breadth and depth of experience in the public sector gives him a keen insight into the unique needs of public sector agencies. He is a former city manager and metropolitan planning organization director who brings his experience on the front lines of government service to assist public agencies in recruiting and retaining top talent. In his prior management roles, he worked with both internal departments and external state, local and federal agencies. His background includes municipal finance, court administration, transportation planning and transit management, grant administration, collective bargaining and general city management, as well as recruitment of a myriad of senior level roles. He is an active member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and has served on multiple task forces for the profession’s development. Andrew earned a master’s degree in public administration from Brigham Young University, where he specialized in local government management.
