Paula has been a leader on a few strategic planning design teams and held a leadership role with organizational cultural shifting to foster diversity and inclusion in the workplace. For 21 years, Paula had a leadership role for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), one of the largest airport complexes in the world. LAWA with its two airports – both unique – provided her with an opportunity to develop a culture that values excellence in guest service and embed in LAWA’s workforce employee training and professional development which ensured excellent guest service. First 5 California has selected Jackie Wong to assume the role of Executive Director. Ms. Wong was previously serving as Chief Deputy Director for Frist 5 California. Ms. Wong has over 15 years of experience helping public systems leverage resources from federal, state, and local partners to improve the lives of children, youth, and families. She will begin in her role on March 14.
Imperial County has selected Miguel Figueroa to assume the role of County Executive Officer. Mr. Figueroa comes to the County previously serving as the City Manager for the City of Calexico. Mr. Figueroa brings 15 years of management experience. He will being in his role on April 15.
Foothill-De Anza Community College District has selected Raymond Quan to assume the role of Vice Chancellor, Human Resources & Equal Opportunity. Mr. Quan comes to the District previously serving as an HR Consultant for QUANCO, LLC. Mr. Quan has over 30 years of HR management experience, including in higher education (Montana State University-Billings, Kern Community College District, Central Wyoming College, Victor Valley College). For the past 15-20 years Mr. Pickett has been responsible for EEO investigations, creating EEO policies and developing practices to identify disparities. He will begin in his role on February 28.
Orange County Fire Authority has selected Matt Olson to assume the role of Director of Communications. Mr. Olson comes to the Agency previously serving as the Director of Executive Communications & Deputy Chief of Staff for California State University, Fullerton. He will begin in his role on February 7.
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has selected Robert Bonner to assume the role of Chief People Officer. Mr. Bonner comes to the Agency previously serving as the Interim Director of Human Resources for City of Ceres, CA. Mr. Bonner is an experienced Human Resources executive with more than 10 years of experience in labor relations. He will begin in his role on January 31.
