Douglas County is seeking a Public Health Executive Director. The Director will be responsible for overseeing a shared vision of improving community and environmental health through assessments, planning, and implementation of comprehensive public health services. This means charting a new course for public health in Douglas County. You will have the opportunity to build the department from the ground up. As the first employee of the organization, the steps you take to shape the department will impact generations of residents in Douglas County and will be a model for other agencies across the country. The Board is looking for an entrepreneur, a catalyst, and an implementer who can embrace their vision and deliver on their ambitious goals. This person will be a visionary at their core but also have the skills as an effective project manager to effectively stand up a brand-new department from scratch. Finally, a person with deft political acuity and past experience balancing competing interests of board members is critical to the role.
