Long Beach Transit is seeking a Manager, Government Relations. The Manager reports directly to the Deputy CEO on all matters pertaining to government relations and advocacy, and shall develop and maintain the intergovernmental and legislative advocacy programs for LBT and represent LBT’s interests and concerns in federal and state legislative matters. The Manager will cultivate and sustain relationships with government agencies, including local, state and federal officials, stakeholders and interested parties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate success in building relationships with elected and public officials, community stakeholders and associated staff. They will reveal a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all laws, regulations and guidelines affecting grant programs and transit programs in particular. The ideal candidate will validate considerable knowledge and understanding of the federal and state appropriations process as well as federal apportionment methodology. Through their decision making, the candidate will show strong insight of public/governmental financial reporting principals and systems.
