School Insurance Group is accepting applications for their Executive Director position. Reporting to the Joint Powers Board and under the direction of the Executive Committee, this position is the chief executive officer of Schools Risk and Insurance Management Group, with responsibility for all SIG activities including oversight of personnel as well as developing and administering all policies, procedures, regulations, programs, and activities.
Under the general direction of the JPA Executive Committee, the Executive Director plans, organizes, manages, and directs the administrative operation in all areas of comprehensive risk management for Property/ Liability and Workers’ Compensation programs for participating JPA members; coordinates, supervises, and provides staff support services, and performs various related duties.
The Executive Director position is a highly complex role, requiring intellect, integrity, energy, dynamic leadership, strong communication and presentation skills, and commitment to the organization. This role requires initiative, self-motivation and enthusiasm alongside excellent verbal and written communication and strong executive skills. The position is responsible for maintaining strong relationships between and among the various agencies, Board and committees and diverse members in rural and suburban areas.
This requires the Executive Director to recognize and communicate different perspectives and needs of the JPA while providing clear professional recommendations to the JPA Board and Executive Committee.
