Utah Transit Authority is seeking a Labor Relations Officer. The Labor Relations Officer will lead contract negotiations and support leadership in implementing and maintaining the agency’s labor relations programs, policies, and procedures. The Labor Relations Officer will be instrumental in building strong, long-lasting, collaborative relationships with agency and union leaders. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Labor Relations Officer will develop collective bargaining strategies, evaluate issues, and provide guidance related to collective bargaining, joint resolutions, grievances, and represented employee relations, while remaining sensitive to employee and manager needs. The Labor Relations Officer possesses outstanding negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in interest based bargaining methodology. The ideal candidate will be a leader who has excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills; is able to build strong internal relationships; works collaboratively with senior and labor leaders; and has the ability to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic matters. The Labor Relations Officer will utilize critical thinking and listening skills, and approach negotiations with mutual respect and trust. Cultural awareness, and experience fostering equitable and inclusive employee and labor relations are key attributes.
