The City of Aurora, CO is seeking a Deputy Director - Recreation Services & Golf. The new Deputy Director will have the opportunity to focus on several initiatives including developing an effective working relationship with the City Council, working to enhance the financial stability of the organization including finding ways to monetize programs, and engaging with the department and staff to evaluate and improve facilities, programs, and services both internally and for the citizens of Aurora.  This role is responsible for planning, supervising, and administering the activities of the City of Aurora recreation facilities and programs, and golf courses. The Recreation organization includes 5 recreation centers, 6 outdoor pools, 1 center for older adults, 2 community centers, and recreation programs including preschools, aquatics, sports, special events, adaptive recreation services, services for older adults, and Citywide special events. The golf organization includes 5 club courses and related operations facilities: including pro shops, restaurants, and golf maintenance facilities. Reporting to the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space, the Deputy Director supervises 3 direct reports: Managers of Recreation (2) and Manager of Golf (1), and approximately 140 Full-time employees and 500 plus seasonal employees.
