The City of Burleson is seeking a Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the goals, strategic objectives, and activities of the Human Resources department for the City. Responsible for a wide array of HR functions, this position involves spearheading recruitment/retention, compensation and classification, benefits procurement and administration, organizational development, policy and procedure development, record-keeping, regulatory compliance, information systems/records, employee and labor relations, performance management, succession planning, training and development, leave management and reasonable accommodations, and workers’ compensation. This is a working Director who can manage the vision of the Department but is also willing to do the hard work necessary to lead the department from a tactical, task-driven mindset to one that mentors and provides professional development opportunities and succession planning strategies. The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive blend of strategic leadership and professional human resources skills. They will display a balance between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
