Responsibilities include managing staff, overseeing the department’s budget, preparing reports for the City Council and Planning Commission, resolving service issues, and building relationships with the public and other agencies. The role also serves as a liaison to the Planning Commission and attends the annual League of California Cities Planning Commissioner’s Conference. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in modern city and regional planning practices, proactive with strong administrative and management skills, and an effective communicator.
