Civil Engineers at the District are responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of water distribution systems. This includes managing all phases of assigned projects, such as budgeting, coordination, design, and closeout, while ensuring adherence to District policies and standards. The Civil Engineer II/III, Transmission and Distribution position will manage the design and construction of various water transmission and distribution, pump station, and storage tank projects under an Integrated Project Delivery model with early contractor engagement. This role will require active communication with project stakeholders, including public outreach, board presentations, and acting as the District representative during construction. Additionally, this engineer will support capital improvement planning, budget oversight, and coordination with other departments, while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

With a thorough understanding of water distribution system design and construction, the candidate will bring expertise in budgeting, design, administration, and construction management specific to water capital improvement programs. Candidates should be able to hit the ground running, contributing immediately without extensive training. Strong technical writing and communication skills, paired with the ability to solve complex problems independently and meet deadlines, are critical to success in this role.
