Environmental Health Specialist Transcript Evaluations

CPS HR Consulting has been contracted by the CA Department of Public Health (CDPH) to provide transcript evaluation services for Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) program, Options I-IV. To be hired as an EHS trainee, you must have received a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an approved institution that includes at least 30 semester units of approved science courses.

Important Legislative Announcement: AB 1288, Effective January 1, 2026
In response to the passage of AB 1288, the law defines the definition of “Basic Science” to include life sciences, natural sciences, physical sciences, and health sciences. Please note that social science courses—such as sociology or psychology—do not meet the basic science requirement.

If you previously received a transcript evaluation from our office and had courses in life sciences, natural sciences, physical sciences, or health sciences denied, you may request a re-evaluation.

To do so, applicants must submit an individual request identifying each course they want reviewed and outlining which basic science requirement they believe the course now meets. Each request must include the official course syllabus or course description and a brief explanation showing how the course content aligns with the updated basic science definition.
