The California Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer. Under the general direction of the General Counsel, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) provides direction and policy guidance to the Information Security Office, the Information Technology Services Branch, and the CalPERS enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with the ability to direct the information security team and collaborate with other areas of the organization to secure and protect CalPERS’ systems, data, and confidential information. The candidate will have demonstrated experience in information security related activities, especially in the insurance and financial industry. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization, think strategically, and execute the strategies. With a shared mission of delivering retirement and health benefits to their members and beneficiaries, the candidate should have demonstrated experience working collaboratively with various teams to execute the organization’s vision.
