Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System is seeking a Chief Benefits Officer. The Chief Benefits Officer (CBO) is responsible for the overall management of all retirement, disability and survivor benefits, member account services, benefits counseling and customer contact program operations for SCERS. The CBO acts as a policy advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer and the SCERS Retirement Board; is a member of the Executive Staff; and is responsible for the vision, strategic direction, policy development and management of SCERS Benefits and Services. As a member of SCERS executive management team, the incumbent provides effective and ethical leadership for SCERS management team and professional staff; and is accountable for developing strategies and goals to support SCERS’ mission and key business objectives. The CBO is an executive-level position with the Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System and is responsible for the delivery of pension benefits to members. The incumbent works under executive policy direction from the Chief Operations Officer and is an at-will employee exempt from Civil Service. Additionally, this position may supervise a team consisting of the management and staff responsible for the delivery of pension benefits to members of SCERS.
