The Indian Wells Valley Water District is seeking a General Manager. The General Manager (GM) will determine and execute administrative policies through Department Heads to implement Board policies. Included with this is the planning and design of facilities, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities and the administration of the business affairs of the District. A successful GM will demonstrate financial acumen and have proven experience developing and implementing strategic business goals and an ability to identify opportunities for increased efficiencies while maintaining a high level of customer service. Experience with and interest in interfacing with stakeholders shall be key along with a strong understanding of organization structures that include a board, staff, consultant roles and relationships. Demonstrated proven leadership in directing a workforce including staff functions, operating and maintenance departments as well as a strong understanding of water issues (e.g. water rights, sources, conservation, regulatory issues, etc.) in the region and the state is desirable but not required. A seasoned leader with a proven track record to oversee capital and operating budgets while monitoring monthly performance against budget is ideal. The District seeks a leader who will not only ensure the administration, engineering, maintenance and operation of the District, but someone who will also implement an effective safety program that motivates staff to think and act safely while promoting compliance with federal and state Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
