El Dorado Irrigation District is seeking a Director of Finance. The position works under administrative direction from the General Manager, having broad management authority for the day-to-day functions of the District’s Finance Department and support services. Central to the role is effective fiscal management of the District budget(s), financial strategies, planning, and forecasting. The Director of Finance oversees four divisions within the Finance department: Accounting, Customer Service/Utility Billing, Meter Services, and Fleet. All Finance staff report in person to the District’s Headquarters campus located in Placerville to promote team collaboration and cohesiveness.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional and hands-on working leader with a commitment to timely execution, accountability, and transparency. The ideal candidate will be a high-performing leader who can meet and/or exceed the District’s Key Performance Indicators while modeling the District’s Mission and Guiding Principles. They will be an effective collaborator with excellent management skills in addition to being a strong communicator, able to articulate fiscal concepts to all levels of audiences, including the District’s elected Board members and the general public. They will champion District initiatives and strategies among various stakeholders, customers, and the public, utilizing principles and practices of effective community involvement, public information, and customer service.
